Soulful Swap + Kwanzaa Learning

10:00 am – Noon | Suzi’s Home in Rockwall

Join us for a Kwanzaa learning event led by Glory’s friend, Gwen Massey. We will also have a Soulful Swap during our time together where you can bring one or more cherished items that you no longer need and want to share with someone in the group. We will place the items out for everyone to pick from, and any items not selected can be taken back, or we will take them to a donation center for you. This type of sharing ties into one of the principles of Kwanzaa – Cooperative Economics.

Bakery & Coffee Crawl

9:30 am – Noon | Meet at Wattage Coffee

Join us to sample coffee, treats, and stores in Downtown McKinney. We’ll provide tastings at each location, and you can buy full-size of whatever you like. The plan includes 4 coffee stops, 3 light snacks, and 2 short stops at cute stores. We’ll cover a little over half a mile walking, with the longest walk being about 5 minutes between stops.

For those who love spoilers, here’s the plan of where we’ll go.

Trivia & Yap

1:30 pm – 4:00 pm | Alamo Drafthouse Lake Highlands, Dallas

Come socialize as we participate in trivia hosted by Geeks Who Drink. You don’t need to be a trivia pro to come have a good time. We’ll split up into teams of 6 but stick close together. Trivia is 2 hours, includes audio & video, and is meant to maximize entertainment.

Each person who wants to present gets 5 minutes to share a short slideshow on something that brings them joy. This is about being silly and fun, not planning a Ted Talk. The goal is to spark joy and maybe even give others a new obsession, hobby, or way of seeing the world.

Sometimes you just need a girls’ day to connect & relax with a change of scenery. We’ve got lounge chairs reserved at the beautiful Winstar Cascades adults-only pool. The pool complex is incredible – Vegas resort quality with a shaded outdoor restaurant and poolside service.

Simply Grace Thrift Store helps support women recovering from substance abuse disorder. We will meet at the store and learn about how they support women and how we can help. Consider bringing cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and ground coffee to donate for the women’s living community. Then we’ll get lunch at Velvet Taco.
